Description:
The historical survey is recommended to clients where the facility in question is:
Within the service sector or light industry with no handling of oil products or chemicals and thereby represent limited risk to present contamination of soil and groundwater. However, liabilities and risk caused by past activities needs to be clarified.
Known to have but not localised hot spots of contaminated soil and groundwater. The site survey is recommended to clients who already know the site, but only needs a statement based on a professional judgement, i.e. physical observations, interviews and limited document review. This survey might be completed within half a day and reported within 24 hours from leaving the site.
Typically, the pre-audit is offered as a provisional reporting when the client needs a summarised memo on key findings as decision support document immediately after the site audit. In this case, a comprehensive DD audit report will be submitted to the client at a later stage.
Scope of service: Historical survey: This service includes evaluation of historical records (maps, registration databases, correspondence, etc.) at competent authorities, conducted tour at the site and its vicinity to identify any risk of contamination caused by past and present activities, respectively. The survey will be reported in terms of a summary report presenting the conclusions and recommendations on further actions.
Site survey: This service includes a conducted tour on the subject site premises based on very limited preparation. If possible the background data should be reviewed before the audit. The guided tour will be supported by interview with management representatives. A short questionnaire preparing the company of the kind of information that should be available for the audit will be sent for the site management before the audit. The survey will be reported in terms of a memo highlighting the most significant observations and recommendations on further actions or position to be taken in further negotiations.
